September  2005

This is a gift I made for my sister, started in an Eleanor Burns class.
Adaptation of a Ruby McKim pattern.

Here is a picture of my latest finished project.  It is a wall hanging.  My local group worked on this on a Sat. some time last
winter.  My camera does not do the hanging justice to show the plum, blue and tan colors, but this was the best from taking pics outdoors and inside.

Now on to more UFO's.

GIDGE has been stitching blanket sets...and Stitching Fun into Life

The lime green is one of the blanket sets that I have been making for the gal in my update note and so is the pink one.  There are actually 5 sets of these.  Each set is to have at least one Blanket, one Pillow, one (ideally 2) stroller blankets.  Her hope was for two sets of each combination.  These are Not fabrics that are compatible to sew with each other and with no quilting to hold them together I wonder about the longevity.  Many are a soft velvet stretch with a satin.  Getting these to lay flat and sew together with no wrinkles is a real project and then you add that most of them are to have a 1/8" detail to be on the edge that is like a cording but no cord in the fabric.  I liken it to a fine linen for the bed.
