Another season for quilts...

This quilt was entered in the GA National Fair in Perry earlier this month, by Bun/GA.

This is my blue ribbon winner and the quilt that is supposed to be in Karen Combs new book on Celtic quilting.  Cookie said it was okay to sent her picture to the RPLOTN newsletter and you may send mine, too.  We were proud....................Bun

Bun/GA's quilt on display at the GA National Fair.

This quilt won a blue ribbon at the GA National Fair in September.  BUN/GA is the owner of the quilt, & it was a row robin our retreat group did last year. Bun made the smaller mainly green & pink rows on the very top & bottom, and Phyllis/WA made the Celtic vertical rows on each side.

  Top to bottom:

Row 1 - Bun's "theme" row (Celtic/Irish)
Row 2 - Made by Julie/GA, of some things special to Bun - Irish chain
blocks, sheep (Bun spins), castle.
Row 3 - Made by Cheryl/GA, tea pots & tea cups
Row 4 - Made by Cookie/GA, shamrocks, church, Irish chain, "NO snakes"
Row 5 - Made by GAquiltR, Goshen Star blocks made with Celtic fabric.

 Irshga's Asian Mosaic

Hi there,  I made this magic tiles quilt with a 12-FQ bundle of Asian fabrics.  The grout is a bamboo fabric and has just enough gold to pick up the gold highlights in the other fabrics.  I was truly amazed this 42x60 lap quilt brought in $190. for the museum.  People approached me afterwards to compliment me on the 'flawless' work and carrying on about how much time it must have taken - if they only knew about rotary cutting.

I have 3 new babies coming into my family in the year 2007. For the first time in my quilting life I am going to be ahead of the game. I have all three quilts well on the go. This is the first and will go to my nephews new baby in Thailand.
