JUNE’S BUSTIN’ OUT ALL OVER

President's Message

Here we are in the marvelous month of June. Father’s Day, Weddings, Graduations, vacation planning, quilt shop hops - whatever.  Each and every one of us are Bustin’ out all over.

It is the month of Diamonds, and the Diamonds we are planning are our memories of our Father’s sage advice, using them to the fullest, attaining satisfaction and hoping for the peace and gratification that all of our forefathers have given us.  I lost my father 19 years ago and remember his advice to me when I was a youngster, that you have to work to get projects finished.  I’m still using that advice today when I plan another UFO; you must finish it to reap rewards of accomplishment.  Thanks Dad!

We all have planted our gardens and now the fruits of our labors are busting out with beautiful flowers and delicious vegetables and fruits.

Some of us have had graduations of our children from High School, Colleges and Universities, where we hopefully have planted a diamond in their minds to be the best you can and do what you can to make this world a better place.  We want to say Congratulations to all the Graduates.  May you succeed in what ever you do!  We have one RPLOTN Member who just graduated from Nursing School, it is our own Sew & So, Congrats S & S!  Now if there are others here that have recently graduated please let us know.

Some of us have children, grandchildren or other family members taking the big step down the aisle. Weddings can be fun, and many a quilt has been made for the young ones to cuddle under to start their lives together with comfort.

Then there are reunions; lots of us will be attending reunions this month, family, high school, college or even military.  We get to see those who we don’t usually get to see and catch up on what they have been doing over the years.  And there can be retreats for us quilter’s showing what we have done the past few years and learning more new techniques, but most importantly learning to share and encourage everyone that life is good when you make a quilt.

Many have plans for vacations starting in June continuing throughout the Summer Months and would love to hear from everyone what they will be doing - what they have done.  Tell us about the quilt shows, retreats, family reunions, school reunions, weddings, graduations, tell us what you all have been up to.  We are all family here and this is our reunion to share and laugh, to help and hold a hand when it is needed, to give to someone who is less fortunate and to keep this wonderful land of ours safe.

May you all have a wonderful month of June and may you all reap with lots of finished UFOS.
