. My mom loved cardinals and collected representations of them in many forms, so I made this for her for Mother's Day of '99. It's now hanging on the wall in my sewing room. I took the pattern from Margaret Rolfe's "Go Wild with Quilts" and redrew it for paper piecing. Patti |

Smoky made this hummingbird paper pieced picture for her SIL in San Francisco after visiting there and seeing so many tiny birds coming to the feeders! It's from a Cynthia England pattern. Smoky got to meet Cynthia at the Houston Quilt festival in 2000.

This is the first rose of
Summer. This rose bush has nine lives. It was blooming for years at a
different location then it died, so I thought, but I moved it next to the cat's burial
grounds. When our Natalie has died the previous fall, I planted this bush near her
grave and wonders of wonders it is blooming again ever since she passed which is now a
total of 5 years.
We call it Natalie's Rose
Enjoy,
Donalyn
