Meeting Minutes ...

RPLOTN General Meeting

June 9, 2005

 

Those attending:

 

Annie/TX, Glenda/OR, JanR/SD, Louie/SSS, Lulu, Magicat, Needles, Peggy/TX, Polly/TX, QDonalyn, Shirl/PA 

 

President, qD, called the meeting to order and reminded everyone of chat/meeting protocol (! For comments and ? for questions).  Louie made a motion to accept the reports in the most recent newsletter and Glenda seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

 

Old business:

The new bylaws that need to be approved will be posted in the newsletter and voting will take place at the website (voting will be closed on July 1).  Votes will be tallied by Bert and JanR.  Louie made the motion that a special meeting will be called on July 7th to give the results of the voting and Needles seconded the motion.  Motion passed.

 

June party: 

This month the party will be a reunion party on June 23rd and 24th (2 days and 1 night).  Volunteers are needed to be greeters.  There will be no door prizes this month.  Contact Needles if you are willing to give some of your time to volunteer.

 

Charity quilts:

All boxes have been sent out.  Annie is waiting for people to report back to her.

 

New business:

Glenda and Louie have come up with a fun idea to celebrate our anniversary year!  Kits will be made up for use in small projects (pillows, cancer hats, bibs, pillow cases, etc.).  Patterns will be posted on the web page.  Members are urged to dig into their stash and choose a pattern, sew a project or two and donate it to a charity in the name of RPLOTN.  Donations of fabric will be gladly accepted.  The area antlers will be making reports of the top donors in each of their areas and accounting will be announced in November 2005.  qD will donate a prize to the member who donates the most.

 

Announcements:

Willo/BC has been in and in the hospital and her mother is not doing well either.  Heart blocks would be a lovely way to let her know of our love.

 

Spacer’s mother-in-law passed away recently.  More heart blocks to shower spacer with our love and concern.

 

Glenda moved the meeting be adjourned and Annie seconded the motion.  Motion passed.
