Those attending:

President qD, called the meeting together and reminded the members to use chat protocol during the meeting.  She asked for a motion to accept the reports in the newsletter. Colleen made the motion and Needles seconded -- motion carried.

Old Business:

-Needles reported that the January party (Mid-Winter Blues party) was set for January 22 at 7 – 11AM and 7:30PM - ?.  Donations for door prizes for the party will be blue.  Anyone willing to donate should email Needles with the item and she will take it from there.

-The paperpiecing swap, led by Willo44, is progressing.  She has11 members signed up and 3 more ‘thinking’. Full information for the swap is in the newsletter.

-Peggy/TX reported that the Cuppas challenge is open to all.  It is a valentine theme.  Pictures to be sent to Penny by January 24.

-Annie/TX reported from her sub group meeting: suggestions about places to send our donated quilts – Cystic Fibrosis, police, fire departments, hospice, nursing homes, hospitals for preemies. She has quilts all ready to be bound and several members volunteered to help with the binding. She also needs volunteers to: put blocks together, machine quilt, and bind. Anyone willing to donate fabric, batting, and backing, please email her and let her know.

The quilts will be donated in the area in which it is completed. Annie asked that a letter of receipt be sent to her so she can present it to the guild or newsletter.

-Lotto Block report

No lotto blocks have been received this month so far but the deadline is not until February 1^st. Anyone wishing to participate, please send 2 blocks to Annie. Full information is on the webpage.

-A motion to table the incorporation issue until March since Smoky was unable to be at the January meeting was made by Colleen and seconded by Needles. The motion passed.

REMINDER: We now have an official webpage (www.rplotn.com) and the newsletter is there. If you have photos and other items of interest, please send them to Smoky.

New Business:

-Several people have offered to review the bylaws: Dotty/KS, Michelle/CA, Claudia/ND, and Sara/ONT/Wendy. QD will be the advisor to the group. Their report will be voted on at the April general meeting.

-Tsumani Victims: After much discussion, Colleen made the motion to donate $150.00 (later amended by Colleen to add: one time donation) to the tsunami victims with the where to be decided after the vote. Glenda seconded the amended motion. The motion was carried. Then qD suggested that the donation be sent to UNICEF. QuiltCrazy made the motion and JanR/SD seconded it. Motion carried (with one opposed and 2 abstaining).

Butterfly Brenda made the motion: to send Gidge a quilt (she will contact some groups to see if they are willing to accept a quilt for a raffle). Quiltcrazy seconded. Colleen made a motion to table the motion until the next meeting and Ty seconded. Motion carried.

-Terry (Warm Hearts) has been sending out e-cards to those needing congrats and thinking of you. QD would like a site set up on the webpage to let us know who she is sending to, so others can send greetings too.

-February party

Needles announced that the February party – From Our Hearts to Yours -- would be February 12^th (7 – 11AM and 7:30PM – midnight). Door prize donations will be anything relating to valentines – red/white/pink/burgundy.  Hold your donated door prize and send Needles an email to let her know what you are donating.
