Stockings...Quilts... and Inspiration!
December 2004
Today, qD has a total of eight grandchildren but back in 1992 qD wasn't quilting but knitting! She made an Angel stockings for GD Rachael and then two years later she made another for GD Lauren,.  Then the quilting bug hit when Lauren was born and she forget about those knitted items.   Since then she's had six more grandchildren and no stockings.

Her sister asked her back in July to make a stocking for her DD's fiancé (they will marry next year).  So guess what? She did and also did the six missing stocking for the grandchildren.     Now she has time to quilt and do other things,

Close ups of them:

The stocking that got the remaining 6 inspired... for qD's future nephew-in-law....

Here is a photo of a cheater quilt - "RED HAT LADIES".  I made one for my sister and the other for my one of my best friends.     They turned 50 this year and thought it appropriate to celebrate their milestone.

Inspiration Photos.....

This was the sunset, Sunday, after the quilt show was over. Another whole inspiration for a quilt perhaps?

Who needs the Golden Arches when this is what quilters are hungry for?
The sky changed incredibly within minutes. This is NOT computer
enhanced!

The sky got bluer than blue....and the pink swirls were outstanding. It
was a beautiful end  to a great weekend of quilt shopping and friends
reunited or just introduced!

There is something about the fall and crispness in the air!  Lavinia was also inspired to take some nature shots - that may one day end up in a quilt or inspire a design!

Seeing the silhouette photo and the view thru the trees reminds Smoky
of a night time view of houses with trees in front that was done in a threadplay class.
