Charity Report ~ from our Antlers.... (the Lotto page will also be updated.)
.... from Needles:
As QD would say I am now the antler for both Brenda and Claudia so from the Mississippi to the Pacific....
Claudia is now President, and Brenda is with granddaughter who is undergoing surgery
this January, so Needles will do the party.
For the Charity Quilt.... I would like for the ladies to send to me 3 - 10" squares of fabric for quilt
tops, all different colors.
For a lotto draw - another 3 - 10" squares if you want to be in the lotto too.
I am making "Wacky Quilts". They are very cute. Any type of material you want to send will be fine. The more sets you send in the better chance you have to get in on the lotto drawing. Remember these are squares of fabric for charity that will go to help keep another person warm whether it be a child or an adult. With your help we can keep another one warm. Won't you please help us help others?
I am saying Thank you to all ahead of time.
You can send the fabric to me at :
Mary Nelson
P. O. Box 255
Tyrone, Oklahoma
73951-0255
I will appreciate all that you send and will put it all to good use. And good
luck with the Lotto draw!
Sincerely
Mary aka Needles.

If you are quilting an RPLOTN quilt - and have it ready to give away - please take a photo and let us (and Smoky) know so we can update our Charity quilts web pages.
.... from Brenda:
Lotto blocks from 2006... Claudia won them! and promptly and graciously declined
the blocks.... saying
"....well, I think you should keep the blocks and use them for charity quilts.....They would get used that way....LOL......I am so slow......I would love to have more blocks.....but please let me donate them back to the Antlers...........Thank you very much.......
My "winning" will be to see a picture of the finished quilt ready to donate.
Purple Hugs.....
Claudia in ND"
Brenda will be sending the blocks to Needles and she can start a quilt.
For 2007....
I will be changing my lotto blocks for 2007 to a four by four block - any color.
Picture will come later.
The block should be 4 1/2 inches finished - working with 4 - 2½" squares.

SSS Report:
Ladies the best way to mail to your SSS is as follows: From address as her's and to address her's. This way they don't know who is sending and also wondering why they sent themselves something.
Also another way is to have a go between angel. Maybe you can arrange to have the package all ready with stamps on it, but not cancelled, send it to the angel and then they send it on. Seems lots used Angels last year. Just some useful suggestions in getting your packages out to your SSS.
Also I would like all SSS's please email me, that they have received all information for 2007 and that the system is working.
Purple Hugs,
Donalyn

December - it went where?
This year end came and went far too fast. Here is it mid January - and I am still wondering why my Christmas tree is still up and decorated. Perhaps because I have not yet figured out how to combine working two jobs and household duties and other commitments - including this newsletter.
Family is healthy - Christmas was spent together and with friends and relatives. Missed my parents who are living out on Vancouver Island - and they missed us. So much so that mother has decreed that her clan will travel to the island next Christmas! It will be interesting. You'll hear more!
Operation Red Nose was a success - thru the Friday and Saturday nights of December, and New Year's Eve, a total of 766 impaired people were chauffeured home. These folk kept over 400 volunteers busy - as any one night saw only 50 or 60 volunteers out to drive/navigate or escort. New Year's Eve we had 230 volunteers out - 189 driving a total of 208 rides, 8 volunteers answering phones for rides, 12 volunteers coordinating the ride teams, and the remaining volunteers greeting and registering everyone coming in, training new volunteers and generally overseeing the goings on. Most of the 230 people were on hand at midnight to ring in a Happy New Year together! It was quite the experience for me working for them! No need to bore you more!
As life returns to normal (?) I have a quilt to finish and send out the door this weekend so that it reaches Toronto by the end of the month. It's a fundraiser for cancer. You'll hear more!
DS (21) has moved back home. He and girlfriend will be raising their child separately - baby is due in April. A lot of the excitement of a new life has kind of fizzed on me - but not nearly as much as it has for the parents-to-be. You'll hear more!
With two cats to help me quilt - I should be able to get more done right? Hobbes has joined the family - coming home with DS.
Never a dull moment around here!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!
