Charity Report ~ from our Antlers....
Charity Quilt Raffle!!! LAST CHANCE!!! See http://www.rplotn.com
Antlers are looking for more Lotto Blocks and also they are looking for orphan blocks. They would also love to have anyone in the guild to contact them, for charity quilts. They are many organizations around this country and in Canada that need them. If you have a quilt or want to make a quilt from some of these blocks, please, please, please contact them.
So please Ladies of the Guild, please contact your Antler and ask them what you can do or help them with.
If you are quilting an RPLOTN quilt - and have it ready to give away - please take a photo and let us know so we can update our Charity quilts web pages.

November Birthday Report
Irishga
~ ~ ~ |
Our November in Canada saw Remembrance Day. Canada honours it's soldiers from the wars we've been involved in. One project that I have taken on is getting quilts to wounded soldiers. In doing so, I've been in contact with the Canadian Department of National Defense (DND) in Ottawa. There are two projects honouring the soldiers we have lost in Afghanistan. I was asked to present a quilt to the parents of one of the soldiers who lived just outside Edmonton. It was a very emotional experience and Cpl. Bryce Keller's mom and dad were overwhelmed that people they don't know would even think to make something for them.
So why is it that the projects I take on take over my life!!! TIME - i need TIME!!!
Getting involved with Operation Red Nose (http://www.orn-edm.org or http://www.operationrednose.com) has been more than full time work - as the office is the usual 9 to 5, but volunteers are also busy working at those hours!!! DOH. And so to work with volunteers, I am also out the door several evenings and weekends. And the actual driving service is Friday and Saturday night from 9 pm until 3 am!!! BUT - I am not working those shifts - just supporting the volunteers who are! SO this newsletter is definitely the latest it has ever been - but I trust you are going to enjoy it all the same!
I hope everyone has a great holiday season - and everyone does and gets what they want!!
ANNNNNDDDD - If you drink - DON'T Drive!!
Merry Christmas everyone!
SUPER HUGS from Smoky.
