This is a small (about 16x20) wall hanging I made for my father-in-law for his 80th birthday. He loves all things Japanese, and I've already made a more traditional quilt with Japanese style fabrics for him. But he especially likes Samurai, so I had him pick one of his choice and interpreted it in fabric. It is all machine made, for the appliqué and for the quilting. I added some embellishments, like a Swarovski crystal in fabric paint for the eye and a  silk tassel on his belt. It was fun to make and fun to gift. He already got it back from the framer and it really made me proud.
