Alice adds more information....

Interesting side note to her story, too.  She wrote me about showing this at the First Christian Church in Aurora, MO.  My grandparents went to that church!  I told her about it, and she said she asked a couple of elderly ladies in the congregation if they remembered any Woodsides in the church, and they did, even saying that they knew they lived on Lincoln Street in Aurora.  To make this story even a little better, Dee said that the carved wooden cross in that church is nearly identical to the one in my pattern.  Remarkable, because I've never been in that church.

and..... Welcome back members !!

Irishga heads down memory lane....

Hi there, thought I'd send a picture of my completed 1998 challenge quilt.  I did not participate in this challenge, but my SSS (Becca/Ak) did, I think she might even have hosted it.  Becca swapped two sets of blocks and sent them to me.  I machine pieced them; and had it professionally quilted.  The people that have blocks in this quilt are:

T/NY, Becca/AK, Holly/MA, Spaceghost, MAK/NY, Cookie/OR, Liz Friswell and Lorlie Engbrecht, GAquiltr, Andrea/OH, Euni/Wy, Janie/AK, Sydney Phipps, Laurie Nathan/NY, Wendy/Ottawa, Gidge and there is one name that I can no longer read (it was written in red or pink pen and the block they did is the purple pinwheel). ... Smoky notes - maybe one of our readers can identify themselves???

This quilt is on my bed and it brings back memories of those crazy nights.  Gosh we had so much fun, the virtual parties, Becca's moose; K-A, Bear/CA and fabric dyeing; swimming in Penny's pool; the virtual interviews; zoloft; Anniebannaniethatmademewritewithnospaces and meeting people from all over the world.  We had sad times too and the virtual hugs felt as good as any real one.

I'm glad that Marg/Boston alerted me to you all again and it's good to be back at Fabric-Stash.

Smoky notes: and we are glad to see the long-timers back again too!!

quiltDonalyn is doing a little UFO work.....

Here are some photos of the second quilt I made back in 1992.  It was a challenge quilt for my local guild in Enfield CT.  We had a total of 21 people participate, by having 4 strips cut 5" by 22".  It took a few months before I came up with 21 Card Tricks.  But on the front of the quilt are only 20 Card trick blocks, where is 21?  It is on the back.  It also is done in alphabetical order.  I have been hand quilting it for the past 14 years and only have the border to finish.

Hopefully this will be finished by June 1, 2006
