Charity Challenge

An idea was presented at the board meeting in July to have a charity quilt challenge to see how many quilts can be made and donated to a local charity by the end of October.  It has yet to be discussed, but in view of the disaster from hurricane Katrina, as many quilts as possible should be made to go to the places that need it most right now.

Let us discuss at the meeting on October 13th.

In response to the quick needs of our fellow Americans due to Katrina, 18 hand finished full size flannel crib blankets, 10 hand finished twin sized flannel blankets, and 9 hand made pillow cases have been donated through the City of Gonzales, Texas, citywide collection in the name of RPLOTN. If those in need do not have pillows for the cases, I am sure they can use them as bags for whatever few possessions they may have with them.
