Old Business:

QuiltDonalyn-President Discussion of Welcome Back, Amnesty Rejoin Now Program! -

The way the Amnesty Program will work is that any member, who has not been active in the guild for years or has quit, can rejoin with no charge, bye emailing their email, snail, and other information to either Polly/TX or Lost/MI.

This will be from January 1 - 31, 2006 only, after that time to rejoin will cost $5.00 membership fee. I will be working with Polly and Lost in getting out emails to every member and hope to get lots back in RPLOTN. We will waive the bylaws on this for only January 1 - 31, 2006, then the bylaws for membership will be back to normal.

Does anyone have any questions on how it will work?

QuiltDonalyn-President Basically, what an Antler does, is you are the go between person in your time zone, you will have backing fabric, batting, fabric, to send to those who want to do a quilt for RPLOTN.

QuiltDonalyn-President Also you will be doing Lotto Blocks, the way the ladies Have set that up is Brenda will be doing this months Lotto Blocks, then Beth, then Wendy, then Willo, and so forth. Also we need to approve this evening to send petty cash to each Antler in the amount of $100.00 for postage, fabric, etc

Also you will be contacting different fabric, thread, batting companies for donations, so we have stash.

Glenda-AZ May I explain the charity program became so large, we have broken down the charity points into zones....Each Antler does the charity work in her area......Supplies will be donated or supplied...and you each will have expense money for mailing....Hope this helps

Claudia Who are the charity quilts for?.....What is the "rules" so to speak for receiving a quilt?

Glenda-AZ it is less expense to shipping and does not burn out just one charity person

quiltDonalyn-President this doesn't mean that you are the only one making charity/comfort quilts, but people in your time zone area. I hope to work with Polly and Lost and when we update the roster we will be putting it in time zone areas. Anyone in needs Claudia, hospitals, safe homes, police cars, firehouses, etc.

Glenda-AZ any charity you or your ladies find...just report back to RPLOTN headquarters when a donation is made

Claudia Like our Quilters Guild of North Dakota.... That I belong to...we make little quilts for the hospital.... Doll quilts for Christmas, and we make quilts for PATH.... It is an organization that takes kids out of "bad homes".

November 5, 2005

Meeting was called to order at 10:00pm by President/quiltDonalyn.

Those present were Needles/Vice President, Smoky/Newsletter, Lost/Membership, Qc/SSS and Glenda/Representing the Antlers.

The purpose of this meeting was to set an agenda for the General Meeting to be held November 10th, at 9:00p.m.(EST).

First discussed was the payment to Tara-Byte for our web site.

The cost is $99.00 for two years. It will be placed on New Business - Smoky will present this to membership and a vote to approve will be handled so that Kay/Treasure can issue the check.

The second item discussed was the “Amnesty Program” - I will present to the General Membership meeting the plan to allow all previous and those who have not been with us in a while to rejoin during the Month of January 2006. This will be a gift from RPLOTN (free membership) to join back up for the 31 days of January 2006. I will work with the membership committee of Lost and Polly and help mail out mass emails to every member of the guild. Also we will post at all locations information about rejoining during this time period. This campaign will start in December. We need approval from membership to override the bylaw section for this one month and do not need to amend the bylaws.

This is a Welcome Back, Amnesty Rejoin Now Program! This item will be discussed at General meeting under old business.

The third Item discuss was the Katrina, Rita and Wilma Quilter’s Fund.

Polly/TX is still taking items for those in Texas and we will post in the newsletter details of where to send Sewing Items for quilters and other crafters from Lost’s email to Polly and Me this past month.

The fourth Item is SSS. QC would like to change the dates from January to December. She will be posting to the newsletter the questionnaire for SSS and then will start taking emails for those who want to join in the fun. I will make a report of it on Thursday night at the meeting.

The final item discussed was Challenges, Round Robins and Swaps. Smoky will be doing a postcard quilt program, details in the newsletter, QC and Smoky will be doing a Dear Jane program, not a swap but making a different block each month. Again, details in the newsletter. The other possibilities to do swaps and challenges will be brought up at the meeting.

The next item is the Party to be held on November 19th called “What I am Thankful for” party”. Needles will discuss at the meeting.

The other item discussed was the “Bonanza Project”. We will also discuss this at the meeting
