Charity and Lotto Blocks

Each of the Antlers will come up with a block and draw dates for the Lotto for her "region".  BUT - you can make whichever ones you wish.

FROM BRENDA: (Pacific Time Zone)

For my lotto blocks I would like to make heart blocks. 6 1/2 inches finished.
All pieces are two inches (2) Will also trade four patches 2 inches. 3 1/2 finished.
Background fabric does not have to be the same.

1. Start in the center with a four patch light and dark 2 inches squares

2. Add two half squares to the bottom and two half squares to the top, with the background fabric facing to the outside of the block.

3. Attach two half square to a two inch square with the background fabric to the outside of the block, attach a 2 inch square to the end of each row and attach to the center block.

You can make half squares as you sew or four patches, Use these as beginning and your end as you finish blocks, before long you will have several. Put them in paper bag pull out two and sew together. A four patch which can be sewn as beginning or an end.

DRAW will be at the SEPTEMBER PARTY.

"Oh my.....well, I think you should keep the blocks and use them for charity quilts.....They would get used that way....LOL......I am so slow......I would love to have more blocks.....but please let me donate them back to the Antlers...........Thank you very much.......
My "winning" will be to see a picture of the finished quilt ready to donate.

Brenda will be sending the blocks to Needles and she can start a quilt.

Twisted Nine Patch Lotto Blocks

Here is a new twist on an old block! Take a simple nine patch block and turn it into something spectacular! Background fabric is cream on cream.

You will use this block over and over again to make anything from table runners to quilts in a snap! The block will be 12 inch unfinished.  Submit two blocks for each entry, one for lotto and one for charity.  Email me: kaseychristensen@shaw.ca for sign up and directions!

DRAW will be in SEPTEMBER - at the SEPTEMBER PARTY.

Needles is the Antler for CENTRAL TIME ZONE

For the Charity Quilt.... I would like for the ladies to send to me 3 - 10" squares of fabric for quilt tops,  all different colors.

For a lotto draw - another 3 - 10" squares if you want to be in the lotto too.

I am making "Wacky Quilts".    They are very cute. Any type of material you want to send will be fine. The more sets you send in the better chance you have to get in on the lotto drawing.   Remember these are squares of fabric for charity that will go to help keep another person warm whether it be a child or an adult. With your help we can keep another one warm. Won't you please help us help others?

I am saying Thank you to all ahead of time.
