CHAIRMAN's CHALLENGE!!

The BROWN LUNCH BAG project.....

So.... the project is completed....  just to recap.... 9 people participated...

Everyone put 5 FQ's of your choice into a Brown Lunch Bag with your name and address on the inside.  Staple the bag and send it to me. I will send to those  who have signed up for this challenge  a brown lunch bag and it will be up to you to make something quilty "anything goes".  Also you may use up to 5 colors of your own choice to go with the Brown Bag, but you must use all of the Brown Lunch Bags fabric in your project.  After you finished your item you will then send to the person whose name and address is in the bag.

And here they are....

The ladies let me open my brown bag challenge early since I am leaving town tomorrow.  I received a wonderful gift from
Cyndy (Cyn-CT)

I sent her some wild fruity fabric with bright colors and she made me a wonderful table runner and placemats .

Needles (Mary) worked on a project for Butterfly Brenda....

Here is the picture I promised you of my Brown Bag Challenge (BBC)  It done finished and all of that good stuff.  This is the first one I ever done and I mean that whole heartedly - that I have done free hand motion quilting on .  So I hope that no one can see all of the mistakes I made.

You also can guess who it went to by the name of the wall hanging........hehehe   Butterfly Brenda.
I just hope she likes it too.

quiltDonalyn worked with Irishga's fabrics.....

Here are the photos of the wall hanging that I made for Irishga.

I just hope it gets to her in time, being that I mailed today express mail to Dawson City, YK, Canada.

She sent the yellow, the red print, green print, dark beige and red fat quarters.  I added my Northwest Fabric of Eagle, Moose's, Bears, Wolf and Owl, light beige, brown border and green border fabric and the backing is one piece of Northwest in the Fall.  I made a mistake on my first block, so I used it for the label.  Wall Hanging is called "Sunshine and Spiders in Yukon Territory"

Quilted spider webs and spider actually embroidered on along with fan forming sunshine rays.  The blocks are Attic Window and Spider Web variation.

I hope she enjoys it, I had fun doing this and hope that we can do it again next year.

Butterfly Brenda was challenged in the project - that's wonderful!!

That's how we grow as quilters!

This is the first time I have not worked with black or white as the background fabric.  I found some butterfly fabric that matched the yellow and the purple.   It was a good learning experience.  I have to admit that I cut one piece to short and had to change the fabric.

Lost enjoyed her project - for Cyndy!

This is what I made with the fabric I received for the brown bag challenge.  Since I didn't want to cut up the pictures of the one fabric with the china pieces I chose to use a log cabin type block to make squares for the projects.

The China fabric Lost used in the project.

A shoulder bag of tea pots.

      Details of the table runner.

Irishga made a table runner for Virgie....

I used the friendship star pattern as I’m always meeting new friends by doing challenges.      Irishga

Virgie made this beautiful quilt for qD!!

qD says:

This is what Virgie/TN made for me from my FQ's I sent to her.  I know that I sent the floral fabric in purple and white, I think the yellow, pinks and green are hers.  She made a lovely throw and I think it is even hand quilted.

I love it and it will be going to Florida to wrap up in for afternoon naps this winter.
Thanks Virgie for participating.  Great to have new members do a challenge.

Polly made this quilt for pjdon!!

pjdon says: this is the beautiful xmas quilt made by Polly for me, isn't it GREAT !!  I love it !!!  Every holiday season I will have something special to remember the challenge & Polly.

thanks

qD's last notes:

We had lots of fun revealing and we all agree we would like to do it again next year.

Thanks for everyone's creativity and support.
