The Board reports.......To January 31, 2008
So much has happened over the past 6 months, most of which is not enough time to complete this volunteer function of the newsletter for RPLOTN.
We need someone to do a newsletter who has experience in creating web pages, adding photos, working with a product like Front Page to set up the pages. Someone who has the knowledge to upload these changes to the web. Using our own products means we don't have to view all kinds of advertising to be able to see our friends and projects. (Yahoo gives us the ability to set up photos etc. but it comes with 2/3 of the page being "advertising").
Let me know if you are interested. Meanwhile, I will get a newsletter out when I can. I think I will move this Board Notes page OUT of the newsletter and onto it's own page like the meeting minutes. Then, when there are updates, I can just update the one page - and you can get reports in time for meetings.
To be clear, we need someone for a newsletter - not someone to take over the whole website.
SMOKY.

The Greensburg Project....
The newsletter for Winter 2008 has photos of some of the quilts that went to Greensburg. Many thanks to those who sent up quilts!
Claudia was going to take them personally, but a wee heath issue prevented the personal delivery. Claudia notes:
OCTOBER 15, 2007:
FEBRUARY 14, 2008:
I still hope to take a trip to Greensburg KS to meet Dee and others there. Along the way I hope to visit with Dottie/KS and with Mary Nelson (Needles). From the many Thank You notes we received about these quilts - we know they were well received and they brought comfort to those who lost their homes and businesses.
Thank You for working on this project.
Claudia ND/Pres
Photos are in the Show and Share section of the Winter 2008 Newsletter.

~ ~ ~
Well - Happy New Year! Happy Valentine's Day!
oh dear - I've missed a lot here! Back in July, we were doing house reno - I think "the
Man" did a fanTABulous job! We enjoyed my whole family around the
dining table at Christmas - parents from the west coast, siblings from
Saskatchewan (anyone watching Corner Gas?). Life has been full - lots of good things - just too
busy! The quilt shop that was up for sale sold - to one of our
employees! SO - I am still employed in the best quilt shop around! I
taught a class (anyone done the Caramel Latte pattern? - i LOVE
it!). This winter saw Operation Red Nose work again - FULL time,
plus the part time quilt shop, plus I re-upholstered our dining chairs, and
started curtains and a table cover. Still need to finish the curtains and
table cover. The cover will be a quilt (No DUH). I going to be
teaching again at the quilt shop which is exciting. Yes, quilts for the
kids at the Zebra centre are still being made, and Quilts of Valour - Canada is
underway. Bottom line - we need someone with computer savvy, web page
development savvy and who likes to chat with people, keep on top of latest
trends etc to take over the newsletter part of our website. Give it some
thought! SMoky.
