Annie has volunteered as the Charity Director for the 2004-5 RPLOTN year.   She is looking forward to working with several volunteers from the different branches across the continent (and oversees if there are those willing!!)  to coordinate the charity blocks for RPLOTN.

Annie's been sewing since she was seven years old.
But it wasn't until 1980 when the Los Angeles Garment District was at her beck and call to drive to when she wanted, did she start looking for backing fabric
for her first quilt ~ a King sized "Attic Windows" for her future waterbed!
Her DH bought her red gingham.....and yes, it has polyester in
it......eeeeeeeeeeek!

She didn't have a waterbed at the time, but dreamed of having one, so
worked on the king sized quilt top. It was her first attempt at quilting.  Annie says
"Boy have  I learned a LOT since then!"

Annie now enjoys piecing, and quilting on her machine. She has two sewing
machines, one New Home 10,000 and a Brother Nouvelle 1500 that I really
use a lot because of it's capacity to do 1500 stitches a minute!

There are many quilts in her house, for just the three of them, hubby, son
and quilter Annie.

Loads of batting, and more fabric than she cares to talk about. LOL

She's looking forward to receiving lotto blocks and also donating quilts
to Cystic Fibrosis   (our adopted Foundation this year to donate
quilts to from RPLOTN!)

Annie looks forward to working with the charity people in different states
who have volunteered to head the different branches!

She's recently fallen in love with making beaded watches, earrings,
necklaces, bracelets and embellishing clothing with " Heat Melt Swarovski
Crystals".  Swarovski's are her stones of choice because of their clarity
and color. They also cost as much as quilted items so it's another
wonderful habit she has to store......because, of course, Annie has bought
more than she will ever use in a lifetime!
