Diary from ~ June 22, 2004. The quilts are on their way to Sisters Oregon. As qD says: "Okay Ladies, the UPS man and woman have taken away the quilts. They just left with all six, headed for Sisters, Oregon. They should be there by Monday next week. I want to thank everyone. Many Hugs and a BIG THANK YOU. Now everyone who will be at Sisters, please take photos for the Newsletter. Also remember to wear the moose ears, purple bra and sell them. Prayers are needed we want them sold, remember pray for all of them to be sold. If for some chance they don't all sell, Spacer will be picking them up and will forward to the next event to sell them. It has been a fantastic five months and I just want to say thanks to all again, my Biggest Hug to All. quiltDonalyn"

A little bit about RPLOTN These quilts were made to raise funds for the Royal Purple Ladies of the Night (RPLOTN) internet quilt guild. The guild started through a chat room on the internet - and now has members across the world. Many of the women have met each other too! The group has become a support group for many, and has made all aware of how small this planet is. As mothers, daughters, sisters, spouses - we all face similar challenges in our lives. The money raised will go towards the comfort quilts' batting, often the backing, and also the quilting that is needed to complete the projects. These comfort quilts (Warm Heart Quilts) usually begin because one of our members is facing a personal or family crisis, and long distance hugs and support is sometimes not enough. Charity Quilts are also made for those who need the comfort - to children in hospitals, or to victims of the forest fires and other disasters. The women make quilt tops from their own fabric stash and another volunteer member puts the quilt top together. Funds raised through t-shirt sales has covered many a quilt backing and batting. Relying on the donations of some very generous fabric shops and quilters has carried the group through. Each of the quilts in the Sisters Fundraiser was made solely from the generosity of the quilters named. We now can purchase some the batting and backing to finish many quilts - as the need keeps growing! Thank you to one and all for your support. Drop by our web site any time.. www.rplotn.com . There is a monthly newsletter, and various sites showing quilts that have been given away. There are many projects on the go, and regular meetings too! The chat room is sponsored by Ed at www.fabric-stash.com and has been the catalyst for many new friendships and exchanges and round robins and so much more! See you in there sometime!! Smoky
